Transmediale.03: Nominations for the Awards
Three international juries announced the nominations for the transmediale.03 media art awards. Shortlisted were five projects in the categories Image and Software out of approximately 900 entries. The jury in the category Interaction honourably mentioned three projects. Both, the nominated and the honourably mentioned works will be shown during the festival, which runs from February 1st to 5th, 2003. The winners of the awards - each worth 5.000 Euro - will be announced at the Prize Ceremony on
February 4th.

The video performance "Live in Bruxelles" is a live-improvisation by 242.pilots aka HC Gilje (Norway), Lukasz Lysakowski (Poland) and Kurt Ralske (US), supported by the soundscapes of Justin Bennett (UK/NL).
"Places without Engine" are highly original computer animations by the Spanish artists Juan F. Romero and Maria Cañas, both currently living in Berlin. The third nomination in the Image category, "EuroVision", is an interactive video documentary by Australian artist Linda Wallace.
