“I always knew that “New Media Art” was keenly problematical, since it’s the stern fate of anything dubbed “new” to turn — not just “old” - but dated, dusty, obsolete and corny… Yet I always admired new media artists, and the ornery, uncategorizable high-tech art-world freaks I thought were quite interesting two decades ago are still, seriously, pretty interesting artists. If anything, they’re even more troublesome in the current dispensation than they were way back then.”
