Boredomresearch is a digital design studio founded by Paul Smith and Vicky Isley, who since 2005 have both been Research Fellows in Computer Animation & Computer Art at Bournemouth University.

Ornamental Bug Garden is a closed ecosystem, which shows how “simple rules can be combined to create systems that display complex behaviour” and generate an illusion of life.

Boredomresearch has shown its work in many solo and collective exhibitions. A copy of OBG is part of the British Council Collection.
