Wendy’s Project: All about ID, profile profile

All about ID, profile profile

Who are you, how old are you, where do you buy groceries, what
websites do you visit, what is your provider, where are you located,
what medicins do you buy online, what is your medical condition, where
did you take tram 55…

A lot of the answers to these questions are stored digitally, reduced
to bits and bytes. On a day like today, you visit a website and you
leave this behind - and you take along some cookies:

IP 85.28.122.307
Host cable-85.28.133.402.c*dit*l.net
Browser & OS Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13)
Gecko/20080325 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.13

When you go shopping in a supermarket and you use a fidelity card, you
become a profile, when you login to your social networking software
account, you become a profile.

Technically we are not far away of linking all these data.
In this RFID project I linked imaginary people (for example:

male
50 >57
bicycle
browser = Firefox
ip address = 192.178.0.6
provider = bru-net
hi, Frank
hates sports on television
likes to visit ceramics exhibitions
buys 5 Italian crime novels a year

to their shopping fidelity card or their social networking website terminology.
Their reduced profiled personality was linked to playful audio
reciting the terms and conditions of the profiling companies (social
networking websites talk about friends all the time, shoppers get
presents they buy themselves and loyalty is rewarded).

Each RFID tag was linked to one of these imaginary people and they
activated their profiles.
