Biography

Diann Bauer (USA/UK, 1972) is an artist and writer based in London. She studied both art and architecture at the Cooper Union, New York and Goldsmiths College, London. Much of her current work is collaborative and interdisciplinary through the use of installation, sculpture, drawing, and video. Diann Bauer’s practice takes on questions of power, politics, and the social and arts relationship to these through a vocabulary of visual force. She is also part of A.S.T. (Alliance of the Southern Triangle) an art/architecture collective working on speculative urbanism in relation to global climate change. Bauer has screened and exhibited internationally, at Tate Britain, the ICA and The Showroom, London, The Sharjah Biennale 13, UAE, Deste Foundation, Athens, The New Museum and Socrates Sculpture Park, New York.

She has taught and lectured widely at universities and cultural institutions including: Cornell University, Yale University and Cooper Union (US), HKW (Germany), DAI (Netherlands), Ashkal Alwan (Lebanon), Goldsmiths, The Baltic, The Tate and the ICA (UK).
