Aymeric Mansoux is a French artist, musician, and educator known for his work at the intersection of art, technology, and free culture. His practice focuses on creating and using free software and hardware in artistic contexts, exploring the social and political implications of technology. Aymeric also co-runs LURK, an independent host and server infrastructure to facilitate and archive discussions around digital art, net- and computational culture and politics. He also co-initiated the permacomputing wiki, a public resource for the permacomputing community of practice that seeks to collectively problematise and discuss less harmful ways to design new and engage with existing computer and network technology.
He works as Professor of applied research at the Willem de Kooning Research Centre, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (NL), specialised in alternative modes of organisation and production in the cultural sector. Prior to this position, Aymeric had founded and directed the Experimental Publishing master, Piet Zwart Institute at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. Aymeric's projects with artistic output have been exhibited internationally and received several international awards (a.o. VIDA award, Japan Media Arts Festival award, Pixelache software award).
