About Adèle's residency at the iMAL Fablab
Adèle used her time in our Fablab to develop her 'Chaussure Convivial' project.
She started by cutting out the wooden leg shapes, that she had previously scanned in 3D.
Once the "foot shape" tool was completed, she started to make a plexiglass mould to cast a rubber sole in it. She also used the thermoforming machine to take the imprint of my foot which is used to close the mould.
The next step was to cut the pattern in leather, as well as cutting the sole in extremely thick vegetable leather.
Tests and experiments are still in progress, for the development of each tool.
